To describe an element from a defined position both in relation to others and on its own. The point of view provides an understanding that may not be seen from element itself. However, the description can help place a structure or order on the element.

To stand or be outside or far from a limit or threshold that defines a group. The separation ensures the element away from the group or set is different, whether the difference was inherent or brought by the removal of the object, space, or time from the set.

To be within a group of others. This spatial or temporal relationship draws an understanding that the element within has a connection or similarity to the others around. This definition by proximity may not be accurate, however.

To exist or follow next to another or others. The proximity and similar course ensure the two or more entities are similar and promote comparison. The elements may be the same or considered the same.

To place before another in time or space. This positioning provides some advantage and describes a difference between the elements in sequence. The following’s internal description may be different than the external description provided by that placed before.

To reference, surround, or exist near another entity. The proximity acknowledges a connection or similarity between the two while accepting both are not exactly the same. The comparison allows one to nearly define another.

To be near and aligned to another. Both entities are described by this relationship, but there could be a major and minor position for the two of these.

To extend to the limit of an object, space, or time but not beyond, unless allowing a transformation. The condition defines both the entity and the specific limit.
