To exist at the same time as something else while working or being concurrent and separate from the other. The elements share a timeline, but do not have to share meaning.

To stand or be near another. The proximity expresses affinity or similarity between or among the elements nearby. The relationship draws comparisons while highlighting any apparent differences.

To define another by a difference or addition. The understanding of the element in focus cannot be given without the understanding and acceptance of the other. So, both must be presented allowing comparison and contrast.

To be next to or alongside another but not necessarily share a meaning or understanding. In this way, the elements in proximity do not have to be similar, but all in this relationship will share a definition of the whole.

To exist below and under another, where the element above does not necessarily have an understanding or interest in that below. Both can be independent and different, but the element below must accept and acknowledge the presence of that above.

To acknowledge the nature or understanding of an element by what proceeded or lead to the point of the element’s existence. One creates or allows the creation of another, and both are described by the other’s presence.

To exclude another element or elements to help define the subject. The description is made not by the presence of something, but the absence. In this way, the true meaning must be made not only by what exists, but by what is lacking.

To be in the same time or space as another or others. The same period or location does not inherently mean the elements that share the same temporal or spatial point are same or even similar. However, the shared allows comparison and definition through similarities.

To add or include another or others to a group of similar elements. The relationship of these allows comparison of meaning and understanding. The additional element or elements may be minor to the group or others within the group.

To define an object, space, or time by an authority or index that is separate but has knowledge or understanding of the element. The definition of the can be the same or slightly different than the description of itself by the object, space, or time.
