To stand between two similar objects, states, or times. The entity exists in this liminal space partially or wholly defined by the surrounding condition.

To be over or on top of another. Although this is common among objects or people, points of view and time can be defined with this vertical separation or change.

To exist in a continuous space or time but defined as separate, discrete objects or moments. The separate entities may not have a relationship between or among one another, but they create a heterogenous aggregation.

To be close to something or someone physically, mentally, or philosophically. The concrete or abstract proximity of two objects or people creates likeness and comparison, which helps to define both.

To exist without or against the support or acknowledgement of another entity. This condition makes the subject opposed or outside the influence of someone or something.

Move beneath or below an object or space to support, subvert, or subject. This relationship may suggest being controlled, but it may just be that it is in control.
